The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched a digital portal to enable citizens to report fraudulent activities in housing estates. The platform, accessible at https://reports.fmhud.gov.ng
This portal allows users to submit complaints, provide evidence, and track the progress of their reports. This initiative is overseen by the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (FMHUD) and aims to enhance transparency and accountability in the real estate sector.
In addition to the fraud reporting portal, the Ministry introduced the Contract Performance and Compliance Project Monitoring System (CPCPMS) to strengthen oversight of housing projects. This platform enables real-time monitoring of project progress, evaluates contractor performance, and provides a centralized repository for project documents.
The fraud portal was developed in partnership with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to ensure effective tracking and follow-up of reported cases.
This initiative follows previous efforts by the Ministry to improve oversight in the housing sector, including the launch of the Renewed Hope Housing Online Portal in May 2024, which streamlined the marketing and sale of homes under the Renewed Hope Cities and Estate Programme.
